This would be fully refunded if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking being made.
The second payment of 30% would be payable half way between your first and third payment. The third and final payment of the remaining balance including the security deposit is due before or 60 days prior to arrival. We will make you aware of all payment dates when booking.

This will be fully refunded up to one week after departure should there be no additional cleaning or breakage charges applied (as per the damages and breakages clause below). If booking through Airbnb or other online travel agents this isn’t taken at the time of booking, but we reserve the right to request it from the 3rd party company should there be any damages upon inspection.
Maximum Number of Guests
Each gite comfortably accommodates 4 people in two bedrooms, however a 5th or 6th person can be accommodated on a sofa bed. We would usually recommend that these are suitable for either children or 1 additional adult for comfort.
The number of people booked when making the reservation is the maximum number of guests permitted in your gite for the duration of your visit. If you wish to have friends or family visit you during the day at your gite, please inform us before their arrival. Additional guests staying overnight is not permitted unless pre-arranged with the hosts.
Cancellation by the Guest
We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. We do, however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can happen, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases.
60+ Days Prior – In the event of a cancellation up to 60 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival, we will retain the 50% non-refundable payments and waive the final 50% balance.
Less than 60 Days Prior – If in the event of a cancellation within 60 days of the scheduled date of arrival you will be liable for the full invoice price. Guests failing to arrive, without notification, will be responsible to a charge equivalent to the total reservation price.
If Chez Lussaud are able to rebook your dates, we would contact you to inform you. At that stage, we would retain 10% as an administration fee and the remainder would be converted into a Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher.
Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher – This voucher is redeemable up to 12 months from the date of your original stay. Should your dates be moved from low to high season, payment of the difference will be required to secure your dates. We are unable to refund the difference if your stay moves from high to low season.
We take all bookings in good faith, as we are unable to judge reasons for change, cancellation or non-arrival, guests are reminded that no exceptions to the above conditions will be made and that any booking made with Chez Lussaud (verbal or written) forms a legally binding contract. For this reason, you agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance to cover against unexpected costs such as cancellation fees. In addition, we may take legal action, through the Courts, to recover any outstanding debts.
Cancellation due to Covid-19
In light of the recent global pandemic we have put in place specific terms and conditions, should you not be able to travel to us due to Covid-19 restrictions on your booked dates. For this you agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance product prior to booking with us.
If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions on travel being in place between France and your country of residence, we will provide you with a Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher for the total amount you have paid. The terms of the holiday voucher are stated above.
Should you decide not to travel, for any reasons other than a government order in place either in France or your country of residency then our standard cancellation policy is applicable.
Cancellation by Us
Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full and we will do our best to help you find accommodation in the local area. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.
Damage and Breakages
Please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur, especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly, and this may avoid unnecessary charges. Accidents happen, and we do not normally charge for small breakages, however, we reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement if the damage is significant.
Bed Linen and Towels
For your absolute comfort we have invested heavily in quality bedding, Egyptian cotton linens and towels. Please do not apply or use ‘fake’ tanning creams/lotions in our bedrooms and bathrooms. Any linens, towels and soft furnishings stained with fake tan will be charged for. If professional cleaning is required to remove stains caused by fake tan products you will be expected to pay the bill. Similarly, please shower off sun cream and remove make up before bed, as these products are known to stain permanently. Any staining that cannot be removed will be charged for.
We reserve the right to supply an additional invoice for breakages above the deposit amount of €500.00. In this circumstance receipts for the repair will be supplied to the guest and should be paid for within 5 working days without exception.
You will be provided with one set of keys during your stay. This gives you access to all doors to your gite. Our bedrooms do not have individual locks. Lost keys will be charged at €15.00 per key.
Car parking for up to 2 cars per gite is available at each gite for guests’ use and is private. All cars parked on Chez Lussaud property are at the owners’ risk. As security, so that we know who is on Chez Lussaud property, on booking we ask for details of car registration make and colour. This also helps us to establish which guests we are greeting on arrival day. For hire cars, you can message the details en-route to Chez Lussaud.
We warmly welcome dogs at Chez Lussaud, and ask that owners are respectful of our home and surroundings. Dogs must be on a lead at all times in respect to other guests and the hosts dogs, and should not permitted to wander into other gardens in Chez Lussaud. Dogs must NOT be allowed on any gite furniture, bedding, in the hot tub or the swimming pool area. Any damage occurred as a result of your dog will be charged at the full replacement value. Owners are required to clear up after their dog and deposit poo bags appropriately. Dogs should not be left alone in the gite unless you have agreed it with us in advance (e.g. a long day out, too dangerous for the dog to be in a hot car). No other pets are permitted unless pre-agreed with the host. Any guest who repeatedly ignores our dog policy and as a result upsets other guests, will be asked to vacate the property, no refund will be provided for the unused nights of their terminated stay.
Use of the pool (May to September)
The use of the swimming pool is strictly at the guests own risk. The pool is enclosed with the appropriate fencing and locks on the entrance gate from your gite. Children must not go into the pool area unless they are accompanied by a responsible person at all times. We will clean the pool daily in the morning and open it for guest use at 10:00 hours. It is covered and closed again at 20:00 hours. Glassware is strictly forbidden in the pool area, we provide plastic and melamine glasses for pool use. Pool towels are provided for your use, guests are not permitted to use bath towels in the pool area.

Guests are responsible for placing the thermal cover on the hot tub after each use, and ensuring that the fire box is safe before leaving the property or going to bed.
Our property is in a rural position; however, we do have neighbours across several of the valleys that surround Chez Lussaud. Sound does travel very easily over these distances, therefore we ask guests keep noise to a minimum after 11pm, so as to not disturb our neighbours and our other gite guests. Any guest who repeatedly ignores our noise policy will be asked to vacate the property, no refund will be provided for the unused nights of their terminated stay.

Please note that offending guests may be asked to leave immediately and will be liable for professional cleaning of any rooms. No refund will be provided for the unused nights of their terminated stay.
If you are a smoker and wish to stay at Chez Lussaud during the low season when the grounds are safer, please contact us separately prior to booking, as we may be able to accommodate a safe, designated area outside, if we have no other guests. Smoking inside the gites is NOT permitted at ANY time.
