Travel Insurance

You agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage), prior to booking a stay with us.

Security Deposits

A €500.00 security deposit will be required prior to your stay, this will be taken with your final payment of the holiday payment. This will be fully refunded up to one week after departure should there be no additional cleaning or breakage charges applied (as per the damages and breakages clause below). If booking through Airbnb or other online travel agents this isn’t taken at the time of booking, but we reserve the right to request it from the 3rd party company should there be any damages upon inspection.

Maximum Number of Guests

Each gite comfortably accommodates 4 people in two bedrooms, however a 5th or 6th person can be accommodated on a sofa bed. We would usually recommend that these are suitable for either children or 1 additional adult for comfort.

The number of people booked when making the reservation is the maximum number of guests permitted in your gite for the duration of your visit. If you wish to have friends or family visit you during the day at your gite, please inform us before their arrival. Additional guests staying overnight is not permitted unless pre-arranged with the hosts.

Cancellation by the Guest

We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. We do, however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can happen, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases.

60+ Days Prior – In the event of a cancellation up to 60 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival, we will retain the 50% non-refundable payments and waive the final 50% balance.

Less than 60 Days Prior – If in the event of a cancellation within 60 days of the scheduled date of arrival you will be liable for the full invoice price. Guests failing to arrive, without notification, will be responsible to a charge equivalent to the total reservation price.

If Chez Lussaud are able to rebook your dates, we would contact you to inform you. At that stage, we would retain 10% as an administration fee and the remainder would be converted into a Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher.

Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher – This voucher is redeemable up to 12 months from the date of your original stay. Should your dates be moved from low to high season, payment of the difference will be required to secure your dates. We are unable to refund the difference if your stay moves from high to low season.

We take all bookings in good faith, as we are unable to judge reasons for change, cancellation or non-arrival, guests are reminded that no exceptions to the above conditions will be made and that any booking made with Chez Lussaud (verbal or written) forms a legally binding contract. For this reason, you agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance to cover against unexpected costs such as cancellation fees. In addition, we may take legal action, through the Courts, to recover any outstanding debts.

Cancellation due to Covid-19

In light of the recent global pandemic we have put in place specific terms and conditions, should you not be able to travel to us due to Covid-19 restrictions on your booked dates. For this you agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance product prior to booking with us.

If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions on travel being in place between France and your country of residence, we will provide you with a Chez Lussaud Holiday Voucher for the total amount you have paid. The terms of the holiday voucher are stated above.

Should you decide not to travel, for any reasons other than a government order in place either in France or your country of residency then our standard cancellation policy is applicable.

Cancellation by Us

Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full and we will do our best to help you find accommodation in the local area. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Damage and Breakages

Please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur, especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly, and this may avoid unnecessary charges. Accidents happen, and we do not normally charge for small breakages, however, we reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement if the damage is significant.

Bed Linen and Towels

For your absolute comfort we have invested heavily in quality bedding, Egyptian cotton linens and towels. Please do not apply or use ‘fake’ tanning creams/lotions in our bedrooms and bathrooms. Any linens, towels and soft furnishings stained with fake tan will be charged for. If professional cleaning is required to remove stains caused by fake tan products you will be expected to pay the bill. Similarly, please shower off sun cream and remove make up before bed, as these products are known to stain permanently. Any staining that cannot be removed will be charged for.

We reserve the right to supply an additional invoice for breakages above the deposit amount of €500.00. In this circumstance receipts for the repair will be supplied to the guest and should be paid for within 5 working days without exception.

Keys

You will be provided with one set of keys during your stay. This gives you access to all doors to your gite. Our bedrooms do not have individual locks. Lost keys will be charged at €15.00 per key.

Car Parking

Car parking for up to 2 cars per gite is available at each gite for guests’ use and is private. All cars parked on Chez Lussaud property are at the owners’ risk. Noise

Our property is in a rural position; however, we do have neighbours across several of the valleys that surround Chez Lussaud. Sound does travel very easily over these distances, therefore we ask guests keep noise to a minimum after 11pm, so as to not disturb our neighbours and our other gite guests.
